Barstow Christian School

A ministry of Barstow Free Methodist Church

History

Barstow Christian School began in the fall of 1963

as a small preschool ministry at Barstow Free

Methodist Church. The preschool grew, and parents

soon requested other programs to be added.

The school now serves Pre-K through 8th Grade

students.

As a ministry of Barstow Free Methodist Church,

the school exists to honor the Lord Jesus Christ

while meeting academic, spiritual, and social needs

of students. The school operates from a nondenominational

and non-sectarian perspective. The school upholds biblical Christianity and bringing good news to the poor, avoiding non-essential beliefs that often divide rather than unify Christians of various denominations.

With a desire to meet each child’s needs holistically,

we provide a positive educational program

in a safe and loving environment where parents

can entrust their children. Our goal is to prepare

students for the intellectual, social, spiritual, and

moral challenges of the 21st century.

A major emphasis at BCS is the development of

personal character. Students learn to responsibly

apply moral and ethical principles within a variety

of settings. The school has a strict discipline plan

that holds students responsible for their own choices

and actions.
